Resumo: Introduction: Being in the perinatal period is considered a predisposing factor for emotional disturbances in a period of acute crisis, and women describe a deep sense of loss of what should have been pregnancy and puerperium during the COVD-19 pandemic, which in addition to of global spread and mortality, has stimulated different levels of mental health problems. Objective: To identify the feelings experienced in gestating and giving birth in times of Covid-19. Method: Qualitative, interpretative research, in the light of symbolic internationalism, structured by the COREQ instrument. Performed with multiparous puerperal women with 12 hours postpartum, without comorbidities or perinatal complications, who were pregnant and gave birth during the COVID-19 pandemic, in a maternity hospital classified as usual risk, in Mato Grosso do Sul. between June and August 2021 and were audio recorded, transcribed and analyzed using conventional content analysis by Hsieh and Shannon (2005). Results: In this study, two main categories emerged, which were: I lived in fear during pregnancy and childbirth; and the second was defined as the other feelings experienced in gestating and giving birth. These women reported having experienced negative feelings, centered on the uncertainties of how COVID-19 affects perinatal health, on changes in the celebrations of the gestational moment, on the way in which the support network has been inserted in this context. The feelings evidenced during pregnancy and childbirth were fear, concern, frustration, anxiety, loneliness, sadness and even depression. Final considerations: Containment strategies to stop the spread of the virus are necessary, but in addition, articulating these strategies always aiming at the expansion of measures to support obstetric health is fundamental.
