Despite being a constitutional right, access to justice faces obstacles, including the lack of financial resources, the slowness of the judicial system and the complexity of procedures. To overcome these challenges, Special Civil Courts emerged as an efficient, agile and accessible alternative for resolving less complex conflicts. They aim to promote conciliation and consensual resolution of disputes in a simple and economical way. This study highlights the social importance of the topic, since access to justice is a fundamental and essential right for the maintenance of the social and legal order in Brazil. The research uses the deductive method and is based on bibliographical research and analysis of statistical data, in particular the annual report “Justice in Numbers” from the National Council of Justice. The central objective is to analyze the impact of Special Civil Courts in guaranteeing access to justice, considering their operation, origins, governing legislation and distinctive characteristics. The research seeks to understand whether these judicial bodies are able to provide an effective and comprehensive alternative for access to justice, especially for those in vulnerable situations.
