The constructions are prone to the appearance of pathological manifestations throughout their useful life, compromising their overall quality in the aesthetic, functional and structural aspects. The study aims to elaborate an analysis of the pathological manifestations of a single-family residence located in the region of Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul. To this end, the method used consisted of conducting an on-site survey, photographically and descriptively recording the recurrent pathological manifestations of the object of study, detecting their possible causes and classifying them according to the Gravity, Urgency and Tendency Matrix (GUT) to guide decision making. Thus, nine different types of pathological manifestations were presented, with cracks, damp stains, mold and mildew being the most evident in the masonry and mortar coatings. The results obtained through the hierarchization revealed that the construction examined needs immediate intervention and maintenance, since these anomalies are consequences of construction failures and may be related to planning, execution, and the use of inadequate materials. Moreover, the lack of maintenance in the residence is notorious for the recurrent humidity-related damage. Given the above, we conclude that the methodology adopted was easy to apply and proved to be effective in identifying, assessing and prioritizing the problems found, thus achieving the objective proposed by the work.
