Brincar para crescer: como as famílias utilizam e percebem os parquinhos públicos

This work focuses on the study of families and play, especially in spaces such as public parks. In this qualitative and exploratory research, the main objective is to analyze to what extent the presence of playgrounds in public spaces enhances the capacity for exploration, interaction, and child development. This research was conducted in two parks in the city of Três Lagoas – MS, one located near the city center and the other away from the central region. A questionnaire was organized, with 20 voluntary participants including parents, grandparents, caregivers, and siblings. The data collection analysis was organized into five axes: use of playgrounds; families' relationship with play; adult reaction to play; organization and experience of play; and potentialities of play in the playground, leading to some inferences. The results indicate that the presence of playgrounds in public spaces encourages families to dedicate time to child development, stimulating exploration, promoting social interaction, and boosting cognitive development. In addition to providing outdoor experiences, these places offer a safe and challenging environment for children to develop physical and cognitive skills. The social interaction facilitated in playgrounds contributes to the learning of social skills such as communication, sharing, conflict resolution, and empathy during recreational activities. These spaces are essential not only for fun but also as environments conducive to the growth and well-being of children.
