Considering the need to address gender-based political violence and raise awareness in society about the importance of female representation in this power space, the objective of this research is to reflect on the violence perpetrated against women who are or have been involved in national politics. To achieve this, an exploratory qualitative approach was employed, with data collected from the internet, aiming to describe and analyze three cases of gender-based political violence: the cases of Dilma Rousseff, Erika Hilton, and Marielle Franco. The research results indicate that gender-based political violence has roots in patriarchy, and its impact can be overwhelming, potentially leading to the death of women engaged in politics in roles such as parliamentarians or in the executive.
