This work describes the suffering and challenges faced by the multidisciplinary team in the field of palliative care, with the purpose of presenting coping measures and interventions that can be applied through the skills and knowledge of psychologists in resolving these challenges, aiming at health promotion. Psychology, as a field of knowledge with extensive study on grief, can operate as a strong ally of the multidisciplinary team in better preparing to deal with losses, knowing that when working in the process of patients' finitude, many professionals experience psychological distress and often cannot see alternatives to sharing the suffering and expressing their feelings. Considering the recent inclusion of palliative care in hospital institutions, professionals working in this area need support to cope with possible difficulties, suffering, and the process of patients' finitude. In this way, it is hoped to contribute to the reflection and continuation of studies and scientific production on the topic.
