Resumo: | The steel deck slab is a technology that emerged in the United States in the 1950s and has been widely used throughout the world. In Brazil, steel deck began to gain popularity in the 1970s, mainly due to its advantages in civil construction. The steel deck slab consists in galvanized steel panels that are used as support for concreting slabs. This technique offers several advantages, such as speed in execution, reduction of struts, ease of assembly and disassembly, and provides a smooth and regular surface. This work aims to expand the bibliographical collection about the Steel Deck construction method, as well as to carry out a comparative study between mixed and solid slabs. It was used in this work a standard floor with 81 m². It was design for sizing mixed slab according with NBR 8800. The results says that for the standard floor used in this study, there was no constructive system that overcame the other, considering thats the calculations were close. Furthermore, in order to choose the ideal construction method for a project, other considerations must be taken into account, such as access to materials and labor, agility in construction and available time. |

No Brasil, o steel deck começou a ganhar popularidade na década de 1970, principalmente devido às suas vantagens na construção civil. O steel deck consiste em painéis de aço galvanizado perfilado que são utilizados como forma para a concretagem de lajes. Essa técnica oferece diversas vantagens, como rapidez na execução, redução das escoras, facilidade de montagem e desmontagem, além de proporcionar um acabamento liso e regular à superfície da laje. Este trabalho tem por objetivo ampliar o acervo bibliográfico acerca do método construtivo Steel Deck, assim como, realizar um estudo comparitivo entre lajes mistas e maciças, utilizando como parâmetro a altura da laje, peso próprio e consumo de concreto. Para tal, utilizou-se um pavimento tipo, com 81 m² e foram apresentadas as considerações de projeto para dimensionamento de lajes mistas, conforme a NBR 8800. Analisando os resultados, conclui-se que, para o pavimento tipo apresentado, não houve um sistema construtivo que predominou extremamente, visto que os resultados foram próximos.
