The work addresses the practice of drafting a Circumstantial Occurrence Record (TCO) by Military Police and Military Firefighters, highlighting the issue of the militarization of this traditionally civilian activity. The study questions the efficacy and relevance of this responsibility being attributed to the military, analyzing possible implications in the public security system. The research is based on a qualitative approach, exploring legislation, doctrines, and case studies to assess the impacts of this practice on the relationship between society and military forces. The main objective is to understand whether authorizing these professionals to draft the TCO could intensify militarization and compromise their role in ensuring rights. The conclusion suggests that the practice in question may contribute to the perpetuation of an excessively militarized approach in public security and strengthen a more punitive approach by the State, indicating the need for review and debate on the subject.
