Resumo: This project aims to evaluate the knowledge of climacteric women about urinary incontinence, correlating it with age, education, income and quality of life. In the adopted methodology, 130 women aged between 40 and 75 years old participated, being 65 continent women and 65 incontinent women. The ICIQ-SF, ISI, and PIKQ questionnaires were applied, which aim to assess the symptoms, severity and knowledge about urinary incontinence. No correlations were found between having or not having incontinence with knowledge and with the analyzed variables. There was a significant impact on the quality of life of incontinent women compared to continents. Greater knowledge was identified among middle-aged women, compared to elderly women, and greater knowledge among women with a higher level of education. Thus, in general, women's knowledge is scarce, requiring the implementation of educational programs that include women in all stages of life and all social levels.

Na metodologia adotada, participaram 130 mulheres com idade entre 40 e 75 anos, sendo 65 mulheres continentes e 65 incontinentes. Foram aplicados os questionários ICIQ-SF, ISI, E PIKQ, que têm como objetivo avaliar os sintomas, gravidade e conhecimento sobre a incontinência urinária. Não foram encontradas correlações entre possuir ou não incontinência com o conhecimento e com as variáveis analisadas. Houve significante impacto na qualidade de vida de mulheres incontinentes comparado às continentes. Foi identificado maior conhecimento entre mulheres de meia idade, comparado a mulheres idosas e maior conhecimento entre mulheres com maior nível de escolaridade.
