Resumo: The municipality of Bonito, Mato Grosso do Sul, a case study of this research, develops ecotourism as one of the main economic activities, and this work proposes to evaluate how much ecotourism has effectively contributed to nature conservation, specifically on land use. First, a mapping of the scientific production was carried out with regard to the concept of ecotourism, sustainable tourism and community-based tourism. Then, secondary data was researched on the amount of money that ecotourism leaves in Bonito/MS, followed by satellite image analysis to verify land use in recent years, as well as the influence of this transformation on the transparency of the Rio da Prata. The products of these analyzes aim to bring a breakthrough in discussions about what has been produced in relation to these themes, and the relationship between nature conservation, market-based solutions and economic activities such as ecotourism and agriculture. Este trabalho propõe avaliar o quanto o ecoturismo tem efetivamente contribuído para a conservação da natureza, em específico sobre o uso do solo. Primeiramente foi feito um mapeamento da produção científica no que tange ao conceito de ecoturismo, turismo sustentável e turismo de base comunitária. Em seguida, dados secundários foram pesquisados sobre a movimentação econômica do ecoturismo em Bonito/MS, seguido por análises de imagens de satélite para analisar o uso do solo de 2010 a 2018 obtidas pela plataforma Mapbiomas, assim como a influência dessa transformação na transparência do Rio da Prata. Os produtos dessas análises buscam trazer um avanço nas discussões sobre o que tem sido produzido em relação a esses temas, e a relação entre a conservação da natureza, soluções baseadas em mercado e atividades econômicas como o ecoturismo e a agropecuária.
