The advancement of communication technologies, especially the internet and social media, has made it possible for children and teenagers to be exposed to social media. The phenomenon known as sharenting, caused by the common habit on the part of parents of excessive sharing of their children, is one of the causes of violations of the right to image, privacy, and even puts the safety of minors at risk. This fact ends up leading to the objectification of minors, who are used as a means of fame, with the aim of generating economic returns, which directly interferes with the development of minors. In this context, it is important to observe the role of parents in these delicate cases and consider the most appropriate way to act in relation to the internet and their children. This scientific article analyzes based on a bibliographical study regarding the content, hypothetical regarding the questions and consequences and deductive regarding to the expected results. To what extent can parents be held responsible for the invasion of their children's privacy, analyzing such issues based on the parents' freedom of expression and the primacy of the best interests of the child and adolescent.
