Resumo: | The Pantanal is composed of various phytophysiognomies that have been shaped over the years by fire and flooding; native vegetation mixes with exotic species forming vast landscapes. One of these species, the aromita (Vachellia farnesiana), has been displacing the native plant community. The rapid identification of this species can aid in understanding its dynamics throughout seasonal changes and in differentiating it from other plant species in its vicinity, as well as how they are affected by aromita. For identification, false color composition results were compared, along with NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) calculations from Landsat 8 and 9 (OLI/TIRS) and Sentinel-2 (MSI) sensors in the study areas where aromita (Vachellia farnesiana) is present. Comparison was conducted across the years 2018, 2020, 2021, and 2023, considering rainfall and fire and drought indices in the Pantanal. After analyzing the sensors images, remote identification proved effective, enabling differentiation of the invasive species aromita (Vachellia farnesiana) from surrounding native species. |
