Civil construction has great importance and relevance in the state, national and world scenario, being considered a strategic activity for economic development. Departing for the scenario of the state of Mato Grosso, it is possible to assume that the absence of that activity leads to negative impacts on its economy. Civil engineering brings great strength to the economy, also bringing jobs and social development. To analyze the impacts caused by the absence of civil construction, one of the methods to be used is the input-output theory. However, in the state scenario, civil construction acts directly within the state, generating income, tax collection and direct jobs. It does not strongly influence the rest of Brazil, as it seeks inputs within the region in which it operates or in neighboring regions, acting indirectly within the state of Mato Grosso itself. Thus, with the use of the input-output matrix, it was possible to analyze the importance of civil construction within the state of Mato Grosso, where its absence causes direct problems in the state, not resulting in major damage in the rest of Brazil, since the sector operates directly in the region in which it operates.
