This Course Completion Work consists of dissecting, in the form of an audiovisual production diary, the different stages involved in the making of the short documentary entitled “Originary Women”, directed by Emília Top'Tiro and Isabelle Fanaia (students of Cinema and Audiovisual and Radio and TV Courses at Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso, respectively). The fiveminute audiovisual work was developed between 2021 and 2022 and was released in April 2022 on YouTube. Before the production diary, which makes up the final part of the TCC, theoretical and methodological elements that were taken into account for the making of the short documentary are presented. “Originary Women” sought to articulate a set of images and sounds that puts in evidence evidence female and indigenous protagonism, mobilizing questions that involve what it is to be an indigenous woman in contemporary times. Therefore, for the development of the production diary, bibliographical, documental and filmographic research was carried out on issues that concern to indigenous peoples and their audiovisual productions, in order to emphasize to the readers of this work the importance of enlarging audiovisual spaces dedicated to visibility of the struggles and histories of the native peoples of Brazil.
