This work consists of an inventory of the ant fauna associated with litter in a fragment of native vegetation in the city of Sinop - MT, Brazil. The ant fauna was inventoried with the use of pitfall traps, during the period between September (2015) to February (2016), being installed 10 traps spaced 25 m along a transect in each one of the collections. The study shows the number of morphospecies for each one of subfamilies identified and additional information of the biology and nutritional habits of the species. Were recorded 35 morphospecies, belonging to 7 subfamilies and 23 genus. The Simpson diversity index (D) was 0.8346 and Shannon Index (H ') was equal to 2,601. As the eating habits and biology of the species it was found big variety of resources that can be exploited by the species studied, the distribution of trophic guilds was different and there is a field of guild omnivorous ants. The precipitation in the months of January and February may have influenced the sampling of ants and consequently the number of species found in the inventory.
