Resumo: | Musa ssp is an important crop for tropical regions. The soil infested with phytonematodes is a limiting factor for production and these organisms are difficult to manage. Biological control presents as one of the alternatives to reduce the action of these pathogens. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) activate defense mechanisms, making the plant more resistant to damage from the phytopathogen, in addition to favoring increased absorption of water and nutrients. The objective of this work was to analyze the effects of the fungi Rhizophagus clarus and Paecilomyces lilacinus in the infection of nematodes in the banana crop. The trial was carried out in a nursery with a completely randomized experimental design, with the following treatments: Control (T1), chemical treatment with Furadan (T2), P. lilacinus (T3), R. clarus (T4) and R. clarus + P. lilacinus (T5). The seedlings were kept in eight liter pots with soil naturally infested with nematodes, with a single application of the products. After implementation of the experiment, in a period of 30 and 60 days, the effects of biological treatments on the population of nematodes in soil and roots were evaluated. Compared to the other treatments, the fungi from the biological control analyzed showed a little more efficiency in decreasing the nematode species analyzed, although not statistically significant and in the presence of AMF there was an increase in the fresh part of the root. It is concluded that there was no significant decrease in the number of nematode individuals, but there was an increase in plant biomass. |
