Resumo: Obesity is a high incidence disease in dogs (34-59%) which negatively affects their health and longevity, being associated with various diseases, and has recently been linked to the development of chronic kidney disease in humans. As there are not many studies evaluating this association in dogs, the aim of this study was to evaluate the lipid profile (blood glucose, triglycerides and cholesterol) and kidney biomarkers (creatinine, urea, urine specific gravity, urine protein: creatinine ratio and urine gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase) in dogs with different body score. Dogs with obesity tended to triglyceride, cholesterol and urinary density changes in the present study.

Como ainda se desconhece esta associação no cão, o objetivo deste estudo foi a avaliar o lipidograma (glicemia, triglicérides e colesterol) e biomarcadores renais (creatinina sérica, ureia sérica, densidade urinária, relação proteinúria: creatinina urinária e gama-glutamil transpeptidase urinária) em cães com diferentes escores corporais.
