Resumo: | As important as the increase in productivity is the quality of the final product, this qualitative assessments of grains has been highly recommended when you want to check the effectiveness of activities related to cultural practices. Therefore, it is increasingly important to the accurate fertilization, both of macronutrients, micronutrients as these, may be essential in the final grain quality and productivity desired. The research objective with this work was to verify the effectiveness of foliar fertilization on the final quality of grains of maize (Zea mays) produced in the second harvest in northern Mato Grosso. The experimental design was a randomized block design (RBD) with three (3) treatments: T1 - nutrient complex A, NPK + Mg + Zn + B + Mn + Ni + S + COT; T2 - nutrients complex B, S + Mn + Zn and complex nutrients C, N + K 2O; T3 - control treatment; in three (3) repetitions. The cultivar used was CD3612PW, simple hybrid, early and high yield potential. Foliar fertilization was performed in 2 applications (T1 in V4 and V8; T2 in V6 and V8; T3 without foliar application). After harvesting and threshing the corn samples were dried in an oven with forced air circulation at 40 °C for standardization of moisture content 14% b.u. Then the samples were separated for the analysis of the following variables: productivity, 1,000 grain weight, bulk density, true density and the grain size, germination, accelerated aging, classification and chemistry composition. The data were subjected to variance analysis (F test 5%). It has been found that the treatment with a foliar fertilizer provided an increase in productivity of grains in T1 and T2 19 and14 sc ha -1 , respectively, compared to the control treatment, without this micronutrient application. Foliar fertilization with micronutrients, statistically no significant increases in physical and physiological properties of the grains. For the chemical composition it was also not observed significant difference in relation to treatment. It is likely that crops with drought the effect of foliar fertilization will be significant |

It is likely that crops with drought the effect of foliar fertilization will be significantTão importante quanto o aumento da produtividade é a qualidade do produto final, dessa forma avaliações qualitativas de grãos tem sido altamente recomendadas quando se pretende verificar a eficácia das atividades relativas aos tratos culturais.
