This article aims to evaluate the ergonomic conditions of the workstations (classrooms) of the students of the Integrated High School of the Federal Institute of Mato Grosso, Campus of Barra do Garças-MT. For this, a structured questionnaire was applied to the students, so that they could express themselves about how comfortable or uncomfortable they feel during the theoretical classes, with regard to: desks and chairs, lighting, temperature, noise and teaching materials. In addition, measurements and photos of the physical space of the classrooms were taken. With these data and anchored by the literature to which we had access on the subject, an ergonomic evaluation of the classrooms was carried out, according to the regulations and measures were suggested to improve the comfort of the students, in the expectation that, in more favorable situations, also improve their performance as students. It is believed that researching the subject will contribute, if not to a change in the way the school environment is thought, at least to provide an opportunity for reflection on the importance of considering study as a work activity and, therefore, who knows, in the future. , one can think of projects that aim to ensure greater comfort for both students and teachers.
