Investing in road infrastructure is essential for the logistical and economic development of a region. Thinking about a route that reconciles user safety and generates high growth in the region of influence is very important to ensure its functionality for various sectors such as agriculture, tourism and mining. In this sense, what precedes the execution of road works is the preparation of its project, which is a determining element for the entire dynamics of the work, including earthwork, paving, drainage, signaling, complementary works and budget projects, in addition to the layout and traffic studies. , geological, hydrological and topographic that are included in the executive project. With that, the present work has the objective of presenting a viable route between the cities of Cuiabá and Chapada dos Guimarães in the state of Mato Grosso, through the State Highway MT-030 as an alternative route for the traffic of heavy vehicles. The methods used for this include several analyzes carried out on the terrain topography in order to seek the best places in which the new road could pass, based on the guidelines of the DNER Rural Roads Geometric Design Manual (1999) and complementary bibliographies on the subject, such as found in the books Roads (2016), Geometric Project of Highways (2017) and Transport Routes (2016). In the end, we arrived at a proposal for a route that can achieve the research objective and that makes the project feasible.
