In this Research Project, the situations that lead to an understanding of the need for Green Infrastructure associated with Urban Drainage in the world as a whole are explicit. Therefore, focusing on Cuiabá-MT and relating the exacerbated industrial development resulting from the Industrial Revolutions with the lack of precise investment in the area of sustainability, the reason why specifically in this city there are conflicts between urban constructions and the nature. With the rural exodus, the growing demand for education, health and transport causes a rising demand for urban centers which, when unplanned, lead to serious environmental consequences. Note that the study of Green Infrastructure aims to minimize the urban effects on the environment, reestablish the relationship between what is built and what is natural, in addition to generating benefits by conserving ecosystems. On the other hand, Urban Drainage concerns the reuse of rainwater through its reuse, in order to recover the natural hydrological cycle. The association of these two factors appears as an indispensable contribution to human life and nature, so that this connection will only exist when the due value is attributed to sustainability. After the in-depth study, the inexistence of the Urban Drainage Master Plan in Cuiabá-MT was observed and briefly discussed, which explains very well the difficulties currently experienced in the municipality. Thus, the study points to the indispensability of discussing this topic, which is so present in cities, and to social, economic and environmental advancement, when treated with relevance.
