The region of Cáceres, located in the state of Mato Grosso, stands out as an important setting for geological and mineralogical studies, especially due to recent discoveries of marble occurrences. These discoveries have sparked growing interest in understanding the geological and mineralogical characteristics of the region, given their intrinsic relationship with the economic potential of these new mineral occurrences. The present study aims to deepen the geological and mineralogical characterization of the marble occurrences in Cáceres, Mato Grosso, based on the information available to date. This study seeks to offer a more comprehensive understanding of the characteristics and potential of these occurrences, with the goal of contributing to the development of economic activities related to the exploitation of these resources. Additionally, it aims to fill gaps in the geological and mineralogical knowledge of the area, providing support for future sustainable exploration initiatives and efficient use of the available mineral resources in the region. The objectives of the study include the identification and geological classification of the occurrence, mineralogical analysis, rock characterization, evaluation of the economic and environmental implications of the discovery, as well as a comprehensive analysis of the recently discovered marble deposits in Cáceres. The research was conducted in three stages: pre-field, field, and post-field, involving bibliographic review, area reconnaissance, sample collection, drilling, petrographic analyses, among other activities. The results revealed a rich geological diversity in the region, with a predominance of dolomitic marbles in the Araras Formation. Detailed petrographic analysis identified the presence of dolomite, quartz, and calcite, providing valuable insights into the mineralogical composition and formation conditions of the marble. Although the available data is still insufficient for a definitive conclusion, the study represents a significant advance in the geological and mineralogical knowledge of the region. The obtained results were fundamental for understanding the composition and characteristics of the marble rocks in the region. The mechanized exploitation of the marble occurrences proved efficient, especially with the use of advanced techniques such as diamond wire cutting. The economic potential analysis of the occurrences highlighted the feasibility of the operation, focusing on the production of high-quality blocks and the identification of strategies to meet the consumer market demand.
