Caracterização da nascente do Córrego da Onça no município de Várzea Grande – MT

With uncontrolled growth, the demand for urban spaces has become priority. Thus, the planning that aims a sustainable and quality environment for the populations goes to the background, with the economic factor prevailing over environmental issues. By inefficiency of public management, lack of monitoring and effective control by competent organs of the environmental area, many Permanent Preservation Areas (PPAs) were degraded and irregularly occupied on the urban perimeters. Upon identification of the source of the Córrego da Onça (Várzea Grande, Mato Grosso), the degraded permanent preservation area was delimited by the grounding activity and environmental damage. Between years 2005 and 2009 the area was comprised by several pisciculture dams. By analysis of historical images, we can observe that the grounding took place in the year 2012. By means of the software tool Autocad Map, the degraded permanent preservation area was calculated, totalizing 4.5 hectares. The environmental laws were disrespected on the area and we pointed the occurrence of environmental damages characterizing environmental crime. These impacts interfere on the resilience of the capacity of ecosystem service generation, that are hard to return to the previous natural conditions before anthropogenic disturbances, but we believe the recovery is still possible by means of a Degraded Area Recovery Plan (PRAD).
