Self-care is defined as an activity that individuals practice for their benefit to maintain life, health and well-being. It is linked to human health, and this fact gives it an ethical dimension. This study aims to evaluate the self-care of pregnant women diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes Mellitus. This is a quantitative, descriptive field study. The present study was conducted in a medium complexity sector that provides follow-up to high-risk pregnant women in the city of Rondonópolis-MT. The sample consisted of 11 women. To evaluate the self-care of pregnant women, the Questionnaire of Diabetes Self-Care Activities 12 was applied, adapted to the Portuguese language. We performed an analysis of adherence to self-care and parameterized on days of the week, in which zero corresponds to the least desirable situation and seven to the most favorable. In the specific feed dimension the values are inverted. Through the results of the instrument, it was observed that the pregnant women interviewed presented self-care deficit related to diet, physical activity and glycemic control. Therefore, it is concluded that the implementation of protocols and standardization in care can facilitate specialized care for this pregnant woman in one, in addition to multiprofessional support.
