Resumo: | The Brazilian cattle livestock is based on the creation of animals in pasture, which demands the selection of forage plants adapted to various soil and climatic conditions, given the wide extension of Brazil. Thus, the objective was to identify the most productive Urochloa and Megathyrsus grasses in Rondonópolis-MT. The experiments were conducted in the experimental field of Animal Science at the Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso, campus Rondonópolis, from November 2017 to October 2018. The design used was entirely randomized, with six repetitions. Six Urochloa grasses and eight Megathyrsus grasses were evaluated. In the waters, the grasses were collected as soon as they reached the pre-pasture height. In the dry season a single evaluation was performed. The results were submitted to analysis of variance and Scott-Knott cluster test, at 5% probability of error. In the waters, the most productive grass is Urochloa brizantha cv. Xaraés, followed by Urochloa humidicola cv. Llanero. The most productive cultivars in the waters of the Megathyrsus genus were: Zuri, Mombasa, Tanzania, Atlas, Tamani and Massai and the least productive were: Aruana and Aries. In the dry season, the most productive grasses of the genus Urochloa, in Rondonópolis, are: U. brizantha cv. Piatã and U. humidicola cv. Llanero. The grass of the genus Megathyrsus, of low port: Aries, Massai and Tamani and the Mombaça, of high size, are the cultivars of greater mass of forage in the dry period. |
