Fruit flies are present in all regions of Brazil and are responsible for large losses in commercial orchards throughout the country. The objective of this work was to survey the richness of fruit fly species present and their related fruit species in municipalities in the northern region of the State of Mato Grosso. For the development of this work were collected approximately 2,500 fruits, involving 34 plant species, from July 2016 to November 2017. The fruits were packed in plastic containers to observe the emergence of fruit flies and were also used PET bottle traps adapted from the McPhail® model. With the use of both methods, 2,821 fruit flies were collected in total. Three families, two genera and five species were identified: Ceratitis capitata (Wied., 1824), Anastrepha striata Schiner, 1868, A. obliqua (Macquart, 1835), A. sororcula Zucchi, 1979 and A. fraterculus (Wied., 1824) were recorded in the present work. This is the first record of these species for the northern region of the State.
