Aging is a natural and physiological process, but there are cases in which pathological phenomena may arise. Among them, Alzheimer's disease is the main cause of dementia. It is a chronic neurodegenerative disease with a slow and progressive evolution that results in a reduction of numerous motor and cognitive functions. It is in primary health care that the first contact of the population with health teams occurs, which must be prepared for the early identification of the problems that affect and weaken the elderly population. The objective of this study was to investigate the collaboration of scientific literature found in databases that present the nursing care performed in elderly people with Alzheimer's disease in primary care. It is an integrative review of the literature from 2014 to 2018, referring to articles published in Portuguese, English and Spanish, in the databases: BDENF, VHL, Lilacs and Scielo. Of the 61 articles obtained, 9 were selected in their entirety for the study. Through the studies, it was noticed that the nurse is a professional of enormous importance in the care of the person with Alzheimer's Disease. It was evidenced that in the majority of the elderly with AD receive care of relatives in their homes, being necessary evaluation and screening by the primary care team, as well as counseling and integral care, both the person with Alzheimer's and the family / caregiver. The study allowed visualizing some nursing care for the elderly with Alzheimer's disease in primary care, but this theme requires a greater demand for studies, so there is a need for improvement and dissemination of knowledge and resources in basic care about Alzheimer's disease, so that there is adequate health care.
