One way to monitor the exploitation of forestry resources has been using satellite images to facilitate mapping the land use and occupation in forest areas under management and classify them according to their level of degradation. Thus this paper proposes the use of images sensors from the Landsat-5 and Landsat-8 satellites in order to map the use and occupation of land in a rural property which logging is ongoing. Therefore, it was done space-time analysis between the years 1986 to 2013, to enable quantifying the loss of native forest areas as forest management techniques were applied throughout the previously mentioned period. With the results obtained it was possible to see that the reduced impact management techniques are effective for the vegetation conservation because the areas of deforestation were small in relation to time and deforestation rate for the entire biome in the same period. This way, it is important to adopt planning methods and exploration techniques in forest management because it can lead to significant reduction of damages at all stages of exploration, creating less impact on the environment.
