Lizards are reptiles of the order Squamata, which have ectothermia, animals dependent on sunlight for the functioning of their metabolism, characterized by having thick skin with scales. Emphasizing the importance of documenting, obtaining information about the diversity of the cerrado fauna and in view of the inconvertible situation of constant losses of essential natural habitats to guarantee the survival of these species. thus, the present work aims to inventory the species that occur in a fragment of the cerrado located at the Federal University of Rondonópolis-MT, with the purpose of obtaining information about the diversity of this group belonging to the place. Sampling was carried out between September and December 2019, using the active search methodology (BA) and time limited search (PLT) and occasional meetings (EO). A total of 101 individuals were obtained, distributed in 4 families Teiidae 97 Ameiva ameiva, Ameivula ocellifera, Salvator merianae, Tupinambis teguixin, Dactyloidea 1 Norops meridionalis, Scincidae 1 Notomabuya frenata, Gekkonidae 1 Hemidactylus mabouia. The most abundant family was Teiidae and less Scncidae and Gekkonidae. Therefore, the continuous monitoring of these species of lizards and the preservation of their habitats becomes essential for their survival and occur Inventorying. The elaboration of this work is of great value for the scientific environment since it was never carried out at UFR, bringing accurate and recent data on the lizards cataloged at the institution, thus bringing a new study and knowledge of this species present in the local environment.
