Resumo: In 1990, the theme "humanization of attention" was incorporated into the programs of the Ministry of Health of Brazil. The idea of humanized birth is wide, polysemic and can be exploited itself, that is: "A set of behaviors and procedures aimed at promoting childbirth and healthy birth and the prevention of perinatal morbidity and mortality. They include respect for the physiological process and the dynamics of each birth. " Qualitative research exploratory descriptive semistructured held in a hospital of the Midwest Region of Brazil. The length of the interviews was from January to February 2015 with date and time selected, recorded and transcribed. Health professionals were invited to participate and received guidance. After the authorization for the search to be signed by the Ethics regarding the hospital and the Consent Committee and Informed (IC), it was explained and requested the signature of the participant. The analysis of information collected through Bardin speech technique was performed (2009). Given the above theme the aim of this study was to describe the knowledge of professionals working in obstetrics at about the Humanized Birth. 09 professionals have been addressed thus, 04 nursing technicians, 02 nurses and 03 doctors. During the interviews were held questions about the concept of humanization in the birth process of the existence of laws that addresses the humanized delivery. Most respondents said that humanize is to assist with respect, attention and affection respecting the physiology of each woman. Said to be possible to humanize the use of drugs or invasive procedures, some could not explain "how." The majority of respondents say the existence of non-pharmacological methods of pain relief during labor and gave some examples of spray bath with warm water, the ball delivery, the massages, the majority of respondents talked about the laws, but, They could not explain about it. When asked about cesarean section be performed only on an emergency basis as guidance to WHO, the majority said that this is the next orientation. Thus are important scientific research to awaken in people the knowledge about what are the benefits and risks of modes of delivery; and know the importance of care during the birth process and this is possible only through education. Humanization, health workers should adopt comprehensive conceptualization, cozy practices and ethical and legal knowledge of the issues surrounding the obstetric care.

Humanization, health workers should adopt comprehensive conceptualization, cozy practices and ethical and legal knowledge of the issues surrounding the obstetric care.
