The cervical cancer in the world is responsible for the death of approximately 275,000 women between 25 and 64 years, per year, with an active sex life. You can decrease the incidence of new cases by means of diagnosis and treatment for each type of injury. However, even though there is recognition of the importance to preventive examination, one of the factors for the realization of not collecting Pap smears for women is related to lack of knowledge regarding cervical cancer of uterus, about how they collect the sample to take the examination, difficult access, among other factors. The objective of this work was to analyze the prevalence of Pap smear test, in the city of Sinop, in the period from 2014 to 2017. The research was conducted, through the data search of basic health units, obtained in the Municipal Health Secretariat in the city of Sinop, from January 2014 to December 2017. They were collected by means of the information system of cervical cancer (SISCAN), available on Web platform of the computer science Department of the unified health system (DATASUS), as the main source of data collection and mortality information system (SIM). Between 2016 and 2017 was identified that the goal of examinations was not achieved, showing a low participation of women, especially those within the age range recommended by Ministry of Health, which reflects the increase in the number of deaths in the same years. With these results, it is possible to suggest intensification of preventive actions focused on women's health in the city of Sinop, in addition to professional training that reflects as much in improvement the use of systems, as in improvement of the adhesion of these women to the basic attention services.
