Brazil has its transportation matrix focused on roadways, and the paved highways have mostly asphalt coating, as well as urban roads. To keep these roads in acceptable conditions of trafficability and safety, regular interventions of maintenance or restoration are necessary and among these processes of rehabilitation of the asphalt coating, there is the process of milling the asphalt layer that, consequently, generates a large amount of waste that needs a destination. The recycling of the RAP (Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement) arising from the restoration of flexible sidewalks occurred due to the need to accumulate the waste and reduce the exploitation of natural resources. We sought to review research on the reuse of RAP and indicate its applications in granular layers of paving, observing the values of CBR and expansion of the mixtures. It was concluded that the reuse is possible, however, it is necessary to analyze the mixtures through laboratory tests. Sometimes the addition of a binder such as stone powder and cement, propitiate the use of local soil added to RAP.
