Emergências psiquiátricas atendidas em um hospital geral no interior do Mato Grosso

It is defined as psychiatric emergencies, any psychic changes that lead to the need for immediate intervention. The Urgency and Emergency sector of the general hospital is one of the gateways to the mental health care network. The occurrence of psychiatric emergencies is little debated among health teams. Being of paramount importance its characterization, for the construction and implementation of strategies aiming the qualification of the team for the service with differentiated approach. This study aimed to identify the profile of psychiatric emergencies attended at a general public hospital in the interior of Mato Grosso. This is a retrospective, documental, descriptive study with a quantitative approach, carried out in the medical care and statistics department of the Municipal Hospital and Pronto Socorro Milton Pessoa Morbeck, located in the municipality of Barra do Garças-MT, using as instrument of data collection the files / medical records of the emergency sector, from January 2014 to January 2015. The research had the authorization of the administrative direction and ethical approval nº 515/705 of UFMT/CUA. The analyzes were carried out through the program Epi info 3.5.2. Results were obtained from 59,268 tokens served during this period, of which 1,131 corresponded to psychiatric emergencies, with the majority of visits being made in January 2015 (9.6%), predominantly female (61%), (67%), with a prevalent age range between 18-30 years (30%), and incomplete elementary schooling was the most prevalent (31%), the predominance of single people (56%), Barra do Garças (84%). The most frequent psychiatric records in this study were: Neurovegetative Disorder, also known as Non-Verified Disease (32.7%), alcohol abuse (16.9%), anxiety (15%) and Depression (9.3%). Regarding the type of treatment received, 75% of the patients underwent exams, 95% received administration of some type of medication, 1.9% were sutured, 1.5% received some type of dressing and 2.0% were submitted gastric lavage, with 16% remaining from 24 hours to 36 hours in clinical observation in this sector, 13.3% were discharged and 1.5% of the records had a referral register to the psychology service, 2.9% to the and 0.6% for some service linked to the Psychosocial Care Network, with 0.1% for the CAPS, 0.4% for the ESF and 0.1% for the psychiatric hospital. Thus, it is considered that the research made possible the knowledge about the clinical and sociodemographic profile of the psychiatric emergencies attended in the sector, as well as the management performed and the referrals made. It can be highlighted that there was a percentage of information impaired in the service records, revealing a fragility of the team in the information registry. The data also point out the need to carry out training activities for all the staff responsible for this service, so that these professionals can recognize the importance of identifying the profile of the users who seek the emergency service, thus contributing to pointing to team work strategies more in line with reality.
