Resumo: The use of irrigation techniques has increased over the last years, and among these the type of central pivot has increased considerably. This increase is linked to the many advantages that this system offers to the producer, such as economy of labor, easy operation of the system among others. The present work has the purpose of identifying and quantifying areas irrigated by central pivot for 18 years (2000 to 2017), in the State of Mato Grosso giving priority to municipalities that has a strong emphasis on grain production. For the accomplishment of the work it was necessary to define the area of study, preparation of the cartographic base, vectorization of the central pivots and finally the tabulation of the data. The results show that there is a considerable increase in the number of pivots and in the amount of area for the regions analyzed, with an annual average of 15,55% growth in pivots, from 8389,46 hectares irrigated in 2000 to 83108,89 hectares in 2017.

Este aumento esta atrelado às diversas vantagens que este sistema oferece ao produtor, tais como economia de mão de obra, operação fácil do sistema entre outros. O presente trabalho tem a finalidade de identificar e quantificar áreas irrigadas por pivô central durante 18 anos (2000 a 2017), no Estado do Mato Grosso dando prioridade para municípios que tem forte destaque na produção de grãos. Para a realização do trabalho foi necessária a definição da área de estudo, preparação da base cartográfica, vetorização dos pivôs centrais e por fim a tabulação dos dados.
