Resumo: | The nematodes the species Pratylenchus penetrans species are responsible for big productivity losses in various cultures in the world. The main way to control this nematode is to use crop rotation with non-host plants. However, in Brazil there are few studies with this nematode. Thus, the objective of this experiment was to analyze possible host plants for the P. penetrans. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse using a completely randomized design with 8 plants and 7 repetitions. The plants utilized for this experiment were the following: corn (AG 1051), soybean (BONUS 8579 RSF IPRO), cotton plant (TMG 47 B2RF), Pennisetum glaucum (Millet ADR 300), Crotalaria juncea, Crotalaria spectabilis, Crotalaria ochroleuca e Brachiaria ruziziensis. Were used vessels with capacity of 1 liter; The substrate used was earth and washed sand in at proportion 1:1. In each vase was placed a pre-sprouted seedling, and each seedling was inoculated with 750 individuals P. penetrans (initial population) contained in 6 ml suspension. After complete 60 days the experiment was uninstalled and taken to analysis in laboratory where the following variables were evaluated: Population density of P. penetrans in soil and roots; relative population of P. penetrans (number of individuals per gram of root); root mass of plants and reproduction factor of P. penetrans in plants. It was observed that soybean and corn presented the highest reproduction factor and population density of P. penetrans. The millet, cotton plant, C. juncea, C. spectabilis, C. ochroleuca and B. ruziziensis plants presented low reproduction factor. Corn had the largest root mass and the cotton plant the smaller. The relative population of P. penetrans was higher in soybean and cotton plant and lower in C. spectabilis and C. ochroleuca. |

The relative population of P. penetrans was higher in soybean and cotton plant and lower in C. spectabilis and C. ochroleuca. As plantas utilizadas foram: milho (AG 1051), soja (BÔNUS 8579 RSF IPRO), algodoeiro (TMG 47 B2RF), Pennisetum glaucum (milheto salvo ADR 300), Crotalaria juncea, Crotalaria spectabilis, Crotalaria ochroleuca e Brachiaria ruziziensis.
