The use of rainwater is an alternative to using high-quality water (provided by utilities), with a consistent option from an environmental and economic perspective, it saves drinking water reduces the incidence of floods , reduces the volume of water and sewage to be treated and in some places , is the solution to tackle the shortage of water. Observing this scenario, this paper aims at proposing a project to use rainwater in the Faculty of Architecture, Engineering and Technology and Institute of Physical and Earth Sciences (FAET / ICET) of the Federal University of MatoGrosso , verifying its feasibility technical, economic and financial. Therefore, it was held diagnosis of probable area rainwater collection, we sought data on local rainfall, existing projects the location in question and site visits. Since then, estimates of demand and uptake of non - potable water were performed, it was possible to scale the network and reservoirs. In the calculation of the tank, we realized the need to decrease the area of collection and demand, so that the storage tank had not exaggerated dimensions. Thus there were two different data inputs to enable the execution of the project. Finally, we elaborated survey of implementation costs, which presented the project as economically unfeasible, the investment would be paid off in 67.7 years due to the high cost of materials for the adaptation of the current of the river system FAET / ICET block. However, technically, is a viable project, and, if searches are made for lower projects cost, the project can be made viable bursar also financially.
