Brazil is one of the biggest gold producers in the world since the arrival of the Portuguese, having its first big boom of modern times between the years of 1983 and 1990. In addition, it is still important, moving 22.6 billion reais in the year of 2020. The state of Mato Grosso is among the three largest gold producers in the country. In it is located the city of Peixoto de Azevedo, which is known for its mining ventures with gravimetric processes using the sluice box. This method is low technology and low mineral recovery. The objective of this work is the construction and analysis of two beneficiation flowcharts, where one represents the beneficiation route using a sluice box for mineral recovery and the other has as concentration equipment a centrifugal concentrator type Falcon model SB400. The same company, however, used both flowcharts at different times. The analysis was carried out through a bibliographic review and a visit to the site of the enterprise, for a better understanding of the old processing method, a visit was also carried out to another mining in the region of Peixoto de Azevedo that uses a method similar to the one previously practiced by the company studied. The analysis carried out discussed the greater efficiency of Falcon-type centrifugal concentrators for mineral recovery in the region, which are able to recover gold in a wider granulometric range, an advantage over the sluice box. Sluices can be efficient in mineral recovery as long as the parameters for their operation are reached and the Au granulometric range is within its working range. Moreover, in the region of Peixoto de Azevedo, its use tends to remain in the mines due to its operational ease and low acquisition cost.
