Resumo: The study of hydrological events is of paramount importance within engineering, especially with regard to water constructions, which need rainfall intensity data to perform design flow calculations, used in hydraulic design. The main way to obtain this parameter is through the Intensity-Duration-Frequency equation, or IDF equation. To obtain the IDF Equation of three bordering cities in the region of Vale do Araguaia, data from three rainfall stations were treated, obtaining a historical series with 51 years of available daily rainfall, to then use the 24-hour rainfall disaggregation methodology to arrive at the values necessary for the application of the Gumbel distribution, and, later, to obtain the IDF equation for the place of interest. The equation was well adjusted by the Willmott coefficient, with values greater than 0.99, classifying the adjustment as optimal.

A principal forma de se obter este parâmetro é por meio da equação Intensidade-Duração-Frequência, ou equação IDF. Para a obtenção da Equação IDF de três municípios limítrofes da região do Vale do Araguaia, dados de três estações pluviométricas foram tratados, obtendo-se uma série histórica com 51 anos de precipitações diárias disponíveis, para então utilizar a metodologia de desagregação de chuvas de 24h e chegar aos valores necessários à aplicação da distribuição de Gumbel, e, posteriormente, obter a equação IDF para o local de interesse.
