The tuberculosis is considered a chronic disease by the World Health Organization, and that imposes the opportune diagnosis, mostly on the services that are the gateway of SUS. The role of the family health team is determinant for the treatment and cure of tuberculosis, the ineffectiveness of the professional qualification, and other problems, has been keeping the premature diagnosis of many cases and the real needs of the affected people. This study has as objective to verify the role of the nurse on the evaluation of tuberculosis affected in Sinop MT. With a methodological and qualitative approach, the subjects of the research were 12 nurses of the Basic Health Unities. Individual interviews and content analysis have been made. The categories which emerged from the answers were: the nursery consultation facing a tuberculosis suspicion; the consultation of nursery to the affected patients. The home visiting of tuberculosis patients and families. The nursery consultation about the suspicion of tuberculosis, it appears that the nurses are collecting sputum, however, the X-Ray is focused on the medial appointment, notifying when the case is confirmed; to the tuberculosis affected, Respiratory Symptoms exams are being requested, although, the PPD is not, due to the lack of the product on the market. The home visiting has been in charge of Community Health Agents, who are trained and guided by the nurses about the Systematic Respiratory and the TDO, being done once every 15 days by the nurse or whenever is needed. About the tuberculosis affected, is concluded that the nurse is the key factor in the BHU (UBS), who represents the primary treatment to the Symptomatic Respiratory population, the contact’s evaluation and the notification to the suppling of the SINAN database, is through the nurses that the community agents, who have the direct contact with the affected population, are trained on the search and identification of the Respiratory Symptoms, which favors the identification of the potential cases, and the accompaniment of TDO, is vital that the State Health Secretariat work together with these nurses, providing resources for them to work successfully .
