DELIMITATION OF POTENTIALS ECOLOGICAL CORRIDORS BETWEEN THE CONSERVATION UNITS OF THE EAST REGION OF ALTO IGUAÇU BASIN - PARANA ABSTRACT: The objective of this research was indicate routes potentials to ecological corridors implementation aimed at interconnection of Environmental Protection Areas (APAs) located in the eastern part of the Alto Iguaçu Basin. For that, we used a Geographic Information System where the classes were used: perimeter, use and land cover, digital terrain model and river networks of the Sub-Basin. The Analytic Hierarchy Process by Saaty with assignment of weights taking into account the permanent preservation area (APP), slope and land use and occupation for determining routes. The weights were defined based on literature. Six main routes were defined: two of the APAs of Iraí and Piraquara, one between Piraquara and Rio Pequeno and three between Rio Pequeno and Guaratuba. Corridors considered most suitable were selected per present the best configuration as the smaller, lower percentage area in the most cost steepness class (< 20º) and higher percentage of area located in priority classes of land use and land cover, resulting in the corridor between Irai and Piraquara, and between Rio Pequeno and Guaratuba. Thus, despite being a region with a high degree of human disturbance, it is clear that with the existing areas, it is still possible to perform connection between APAs.Keywords: Geographic Information System, environmental protection areas, forest fragments, analytic hierarchy process.
