AUGUSTE COMTE'S POSITIVISM AND THE SCIENTIFIC EDUCATION IN BRAZIL

Resumo: The following paper brings up an analysis of Auguste Comte's vision about the Scientific Education in its own work "The Course of Positive Philosophy". Therefore, Comte's first ideas, those before his Positive Religion propostion, were emphasized. In addition, there is a brief discussion regarding the origin of the Positivism's influence in Brazil which leads to the conclusion while taking into consideration some implications of its legacy to the education in Brazil, referring mainly to the Sciences in the school curriculum, most importantly, during the First Republic.

Dessa forma, foi dada atenção nas primeiras ideias de Comte, anteriores a sua proposição da Religião positiva.
