ENTOMOLOGICAL BOXES AS A TEACHING RESOURCE FOR SCIENCE TEACHING IN THE EARLY YEARS OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL I

Resumo: Carrying out practical activities in Science Teaching in Basic Education, especially in the early years of Elementary Education, still presents some precarious conditions, either due to lack of school structure, or lack of material, or due to teacher preparation, or another. Faced with this gap, this research aimed to investigate the contributions that the assembly and use of entomological boxes bring to Science Teaching in Elementary School I of Basic Education. With a qualitative character, the study consisted of collecting insects and using them in a Science class with the production, by the participating students, of an entomological box. It was composed of 19 specimens of insects. The main locus of the research was the Biodiversity and Conservation Laboratory (LABICON), of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Pará – (IFPA), Campus Abaetetuba, which has an entomological collection for teaching and scientific purposes. The results point to the involvement and interest of students in carrying out the activity, active participation of students in the teaching and learning process, approximation between theory and practice, as well as acceptance and teaching perspectives for the use of the material produced. With this, we point out the efficiency of this methodological resource in Science Teaching, requiring, however, that teachers take ownership of experiences and concepts related to the theme, contextualize the theme with subjects inherent to the experiences of students and seek continuing education that helps them to increase of the diversification and interdisciplinarity of its classes.

Frente a ese vacío, esta investigación tuvo como objetivo indagar los aportes que el montaje y uso de las cajas entomológicas traen a la Enseñanza de las Ciencias en la Enseñanza Básica I de Educación Básica. De carácter cualitativo, el estudio consistió en recolectar insectos y utilizarlos en una clase de Ciencias con la elaboración, por parte de los alumnos participantes, de una caja entomológica. Estaba compuesto por 19 ejemplares de insectos. Los resultados apuntan al involucramiento e interés de los estudiantes en la realización de la actividad, participación activa de los estudiantes en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje, aproximación entre teoría y práctica, así como aceptación y perspectivas didácticas para el uso del material producido. Con eso, señalamos la eficiencia de este recurso metodológico en la Enseñanza de las Ciencias, requiriendo, sin embargo, que los docentes se apropien de las experiencias y conceptos relacionados con el tema, contextualicen el tema con temas inherentes a las experiencias de los estudiantes y busquen una formación permanente que ayude ellos para aumentar la diversificación e interdisciplinariedad de sus clases.A realização de atividades práticas no Ensino de Ciências na Educação Básica, em especial, nos anos iniciais do Ensino Fundamental, ainda apresenta algumas precariedades, seja por falta de estrutura da escola, seja por carência de material, seja devido à preparação docente, ou outro. Diante dessa lacuna, a presente pesquisa objetivou investigar as contribuições que a montagem e uso de caixas entomológicas trazem para o Ensino de Ciências do Ensino Fundamental I da Educação Básica. Com caráter qualitativo, o estudo consistiu em coletar insetos e utilizá-los em uma aula de Ciências com produção, pelos próprios alunos participantes, de uma caixa entomológica. A mesma foi composta por 19 exemplares de insetos. O lócus principal da pesquisa foi o Laboratório de Biodiversidade e Conservação (LABICON), do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Pará – (IFPA), Campus Abaetetuba, que possui uma coleção entomológica com fins didáticos e científicos. Os resultados apontam para o envolvimento e interesse dos discentes na realização da atividade, participação ativa dos estudantes no processo de ensino e aprendizagem, aproximação entre teoria e prática, bem como para a aceitação e perspectivas docentes para uso do material produzido.
