Resumo: This article presents a research that aimed to know and identify the importance of the Medicinal Herbs Project: live pharmacy, developed in the Field School of Agrarian Reform Settlement in the northern region of Mato Grosso. The Settlement 12th October was organized by the Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST), in 2010. The research was qualitative approach and had as subjects two teachers and two classes of school students, directly involved in the project. The objective was to know the dynamics of development as well as to understand the importance of this project in the preservation of popular knowledge about plants and the health of the local community. For the production of data of this work, we used semi-structured interviews with the teachers and a conversation with the students. Even in the face of the challenges for improvement, through this research, we verified that the project showed great potential for the development of skills that allow awareness for the preservation of the popular knowledge that the families of the settlement have.

O Assentamento 12 de Outubro foi organizado pelo Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra (MST) em 2010. A pesquisa foi de abordagem qualitativa e teve como sujeitos dois professores e duas turmas de alunos da escola, envolvidos diretamente no projeto. O objetivo estava em conhecera dinâmica de desenvolvimento assim como compreender a importância desse projeto na preservação de saberes populares sobre plantas e na saúde da comunidade local. Para a produção de dados deste trabalho, utilizaram-se entrevistas semiestruturadas com os professores e roda de conversa com os alunos.
