The use of medicinal plants in the cure and treatment of diseases is millenarian. A lot of times the medicinal plants constitute how being the only therapeutic resource of ethnic groups and communities For that the potential of the plants is used in a beneficial way by the society is necessary to identify them correctly. This work had as objective identifies the medicinal plants used by the Pastoral of the health of Cacoal, state of Rondônia The rising of the species of medicinal plants cultivated by the Pastoral was accomplished through keys of identification taxonomic, comparison with specialized technical literatures, as well as specialists of the area. They were identified 41 species with medicinal use, belonging to 36 geners and 24 families. The families better acted were Lamiaceae (10 species) and Asteraceae (04 species). Most of the species it‟s from Brazil (30,23%) and Europe (13,95%). The present work will serve as embossment for studies that by chance comes to be accomplished in the area, aiding like this in the spread traditional knowledge
