Resumo: This thesis aims to show how the sound indicators in the narrative with scientific disclosure in podcast strengthen the public confrontation of the new coronavirus pandemic, by the Brazilian population with little scientific literacy, which was aggravated by the wrong conduct of the responsible agents, making it difficult to comply with the constitutional provision by “right to information”. The “risk communication” (WHO) that disseminates public health emergencies and information about this virus, its implications and developments in the life of world society will be approached from a concept of narrative apprehended in the sound media of a podcast that proposes to discuss science, relating it to other aspects of human life, intertwining form and content. And, in this context, the narrative assumes an important role, as it bridges the gap between information and the heterogeneous audience of Brazilian podcasts, produced and accessed in 2020. Period during which there was greater interest in the production of communication with scientific dissemination on streaming platforms that contribute to the process of public information, awareness and prevention regarding the effects of the virus. The question is how, in terms of sound strategies in the narrative, are podcasts that promote the idea that information with little incidence of controversy helps in risk communication? Since academicism speaks to its peers, the space in the digital environment was occupied by communicators who became interested and grew in this environment, developing a way of communicating with power for engagement. In this sense, when seeking this space, scientific producers and public managers had difficulties in using this resource for scientific dissemination. The use of sound indicators, language and format in digital sound media, with a wide reach in the heterogeneous audience, which develops a strategy to communicate with power for public engagement. In the field of research in communication, when presenting forms that produce human interactions with cultural practices, the methodology applied in the study of sound narrative is used, with a quali interpretative nature, evidencing sound indicators that contribute to the production of narratives in podcasts with scientific dissemination, under basic structural references in podcasting storytelling. The analysis is based on episodes of two podcast channels with content about the new coronavirus (Covid-19), published and accessed on the YouTube BR platform. They are: Xadrez Verbal & Atila Iamarino – special coronavirus podcast and Luz no Fim da Quarentena. Theoretical references are used for conceptual reflections between the authors Mario Kaplún, Jerome Bruner, Pierre Schaeffer, Luãn Chagas, Ciro Marcondes Filho, Lilian Zamboni, Luana Viana and OMS in relevant notes for contemporary thoughts on sound narrative in digital media in a pandemic. The results from this research can bring new possibilities to understand the stigma of science communication in times of contemporary connections. The relationships between communication through sound media and culture with risk factors, addressing sound indicators in the narrative with scientific dissemination in podcasts, demand effective and awareness-raising mediations, under parameters of social justice, guaranteeing access to information. By interweaving form and content of the podcast episodes without controversy, it contributes to a greater public understanding of the information passed from the risk communication, where the application of the constitutional right to information is promoted, which was not prioritized by the public power in the first pandemic year. The production of risk communication for podcasts with a scientific narrative needs to be closer to the purpose of the speech, to minimize fake news, denialism, controversies or any other maneuver that disrupts the commitment to the act of engagement with pandemic recommendations.
