This paper presents a comparative analysis between cooperatives in the perspective of Marx and the proposal developed by the Landless Workers' Movement - MST. The objectives are: to contextualize the training, organization and structuring of the MST from the method and theory of Marx, analyze the cooperative and its contradictory conceptions, as well as the structuring of the theoretical proposal the MST and how is its application in practice, aiming the end compare it with Marx's perspective. We develop an extensive bibliographical and field research also aimed to understand the proposal of the movement in theory and practice. We found that the structure and the formation of the movement is given as the postulates of the method and at some points of Marxist theory and its organization and expansion in Brazil occurred from 1979 to the present day, in the midst of difficulties and the ambiguities of the capitalist system of production . We demonstrate some concepts and some of the history of cooperatives, among which, the visions they see the cooperative a way to get to it, which was opposed by conceptions that consider it as a tool to precarious work. An analysis of theoretical and practical proposal MST, through an extensive literature review and also a search field on a settlement in Mato Grosso and two cooperatives in Santa Catarina. At the end we have developed a comparative analysis between the design and Marx's perspective on cooperative and confront the model of MST, where we see that the latter flees to the postulates of the author.
