The fantastic journeys have perpetuated themselves in medieval imagination for centuries; It was a form of literature that attracted vast audiences, resulting in both creation and fame of the most diverse narratives during the Middle Ages and St. Brendan’s Journey is inserted in this context. In this narrative, an Irish monk goes through several adventures and ordeals, in search of the promised Earthly Paradise. It is an impressive story, but the appearance and the great reputation that this narrative has achieved in the Roman Empire during the fourteenth century is astonishing. The sources used in this paper have their origin in the same Latin manuscripts, the Navigatio Sancti Brendani Abbatis; being used written as well as imagetic sources. This study tries to answer how the narrative has perpetuated itself in the region, and attempts identify what are the archetypical image that are present and assisted in the identification and admiration for the narrative by the bohemian society.
