This work has as object the patrimonial education in the Pedregal neighborhood, located in Cuiabá-MT, at EMEB Dr. Orlando Nigro. This neighborhood began in the 1970s, when the city of Cuiabá received a large population that came in search of job opportunities and better living conditions. During this period, between 1970 and 1980, the city's population grew a lot and this brought several consequences for Cuiabá, such as the increase in demands for work, health, education and, because of this, the growth of crime, causing, in a way, occupations of urban/green areas and the emergence of precarious settlements at the time. Therefore, the Pedregal neighborhood is the result of this process that occurred in the city of Cuiabá, during the study period. In this context, the objective is, with this work, through heritage education, to explore the places of memories and achievements of the community over the years, making it appropriate to develop the historical awareness in the lives of children who study at EMEB Dr. Orlando Nigro, so that, with this information and with heritage education, students can carry forward a different history of the neighborhood and, thus, in the near future, make the neighborhood also understood differently by the population. And, as a product, a minidocumentary will be developed regarding the constitution and modernization of Pedregal, as well as some of its cultural heritage.
