Introduction: Childbirth is seen as a psychosomatic process in which the choices of pregnant women are associated, not only with the development of pregnancy, but also with the level of knowledge of the woman and the influence of the health professional who attended it. In view of this, qualified and humanized prenatal care is necessary, which is accomplished through the conduct of welcoming behaviors, the provision of information and appropriate guidelines. General objective: To construct a primer with guidelines about of delivery to be used during prenatal care in the Family Health Strategy. Specific objectives: To know the perception of nurses about care and guidance during prenatal care in relation to childbirth in the context of the Family Health Strategy; To know the perception of puerperas about the guidelines received during prenatal care in relation to childbirth in the context of the Family Health Strategy. 9 Methodology: This is an exploratory and descriptive study, structured from a qualitative approach, which was developed in the Family Health Strategies of a county in the countryside of Rio Grande do Sul, in the period from March to August 2018. Four nurses who worked in the Family Health Strategies and seven puerperal women who had been prenatal in the same units participated in the study. The interviews were conducted using specific guiding questions for both groups, and the data were analyzed based on the thematic content analysis. Results: Data from interviews with nurses resulted in two thematic categories: (a) guidelines during the prenatal visit; (b) nurses' perception about the care offered during prenatal care in the Family Health Strategy. The data from the interviews with the puerperal resulted in two thematic axes: the perception of the puerperas about their experiences during prenatal care; and guidelines received during the prenatal period and the time of delivery at conception of puerperal women. It was evidenced that the puerperal perceive that the preparation for the childbirth is important during the prenatal period, however, most of them reported not having received any type of guidance about that moment. The issue of childbirth is not among the issues addressed during the nurse's prenatal visit. The research process enabled the development of a primer with guidelines on the time of delivery and the rights of the parturient to be used during prenatal care and, thus, to assist pregnant women in health education. It is defended, with this proposal, that the pregnant woman receive quality information during the prenatal period to experience the delivery in a quiet and informed way. Product and its applicability: The primer is a health guidance instrument on the of delivery and on the rights of the parturient to be used in the care of pregnant women during prenatal care, which may result in the following social benefits and impacts: (a) clarification of doubts about delivery during prenatal care; (b) more effective interaction between professional-user; (c) the empowerment of women over their bodies, their gestation and their delivery, allowing greater knowledge for women and, with this, fewer interventions during labor and delivery; and (d) a lower chance of a cesarean section, as recommended by the World Health Organization. Final considerations: Prenatal care is the most important care in the pregnancy cycle, therefore, it is imperative that professionals working with pregnant women provide guidance on phases of gestation and, especially, about the moment of childbirth, since it is surrounded by myths, which generates fear and doubts, so it is necessary to exercise the empowerment so that the delivery is quietly experienced by the woman and her family.
