Resumo: It is known that anxiety can negatively interfere with the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM 2). In this sense, this work seeks to measure the anxiety of people living with DM 2 during the pandemic. Objective: to evaluate the presence of anxiety in people with DM 2, during the SARS-Cov pandemic. 2. We also sought to analyze the drug treatment of people with DM 2, during the pandemic, investigate the socioeconomic, sociodemographic and cultural profile of individuals with DM 2, apply the Hamilton scale, apply the Diabetes Self-Care Activity Questionnaire (QAD), measure anthropometric measurements and examine biochemical parameters of people with DM 2. Methodology: A prospective, descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out. Data collection took place from March 2022 to November 2022. People with DM 2, of both sexes, adults and elderly, registered in the health system of the city of Santiago/RS, linked to ESF teams, participated in the study. interviewed two hundred and twenty-five (225) people with DM 2. Data collection was carried out using structured questionnaires. The socioeconomic, sociodemographic and cultural profile was carried out in a home interview. Anxiety levels were measured using the Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAM-A). The Diabetes Self-Care Activity Questionnaire (QAD) was also applied, which is a report of the condition and daily management of diabetes. The assessment of waist circumference, weight, height, as well as calculation of Body Mass Index (BMI) was carried out in the basic health unit to which the patient belongs, during a nursing consultation. In this same consultation, biochemical parameters were evaluated. A period of up to six months was considered to consider the results valid, thus following the protocols of the Unified Health System (SUS). Results: Following analytical and descriptive methods, it was observed that the patient sample was mostly composed of female individuals (57%), with varying ages, but most commonly between 60 and 69 years old (36%), predominantly white. (84%) and residents of urban areas (92%). Regarding anxiety levels measured by the Hamilton scale, a significant portion of 107 individuals had the result classified as severe anxiety (47.6%). It was observed that the number of pills taken daily by the patient increases proportionally to the worsening of the anxiety level (P < 0.05). Regarding anthropometric data, the BMI presented a high average, that is, the individuals are above the appropriate weight. It was observed that severe anxiety predominated in females and temporary anxiety was more prevalent in males. Conclusion: This study demonstrates the importance of self-care in people with DM 2, highlighting important data in its evaluated dimensions. The importance of PHC is highlighted, monitoring this individual, ensuring access, comprehensive care and quality of care provided, providing biopsychosocial care. Family support is also highlighted as a fundamental strategy for minimizing mental suffering.

Submitted by Clarice Rosa Machado (clarice.machado@ufn.edu.br) on 2024-04-22T18:11:08Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Dissertação final_s ass_ Bruna dos Santos Oliveira (2).pdf: 1322813 bytes, checksum: 5666bb2a962a5d749dfaaf746d12740b (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2024-04-22T18:11:08Z (GMT).
